Through physical activity, postural positions, muscle imbalances, overuse of certain areas and many things in life, soft tissues of the body will develop adhesions, trigger points, strain, tension and restrictions that can impede blood flow, oxygen delivery and nutrients; which will cause pain, movement restrictions and detriments to performance and daily activities.

Manual therapy, whether in the form of traditional massage, active release, neuromuscular techniques or whichever treatment is deemed necessary, will help to release these soft tissue restrictions and restore optimal movement, blood flow and nutrient delivery. Training without proper soft tissue work will only get you so far, since restricting lesions can create dysfunctional movement and hold back progress. Soft tissue work without proper training and movement will also only get you so far, since old patterns will come right back if you don’t retrain the motor patterns and lines of tissue stress. Combining proper manual therapy with proper training provides AMAZING results and helps lead to optimal performance, movement, health and a pain free lifestyle.

What makes our manual therapy different than other professionals? Nick is highly trained in multiple very specific treatment protocols based on specific dysfunctions that are found with screening and assessment. The structures that are treated (muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, fascia), the tension and contact that is used, the duration of treatment, the movements that are incorporated and everything that is done with each treatment is highly specific and specialized based on what the needs of each individual are. While most massage businesses you go to will simply “rub” you and hope for the best, Nick uses his extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics in order to treat the cause of your problem and get the LASTING relief that you deserve.

Site-specific tissue work can be performed for certain areas of the body that either have pain or are causing pain or some other issue. This is usually one of the most common types of work that we do as we treat many clients who have very specific and specialized issues and needs. Techniques used include Active Release Techniques, fascial release/manipulation, neuromuscular techniques, trigger point release, connective tissue release, cross fiber friction and stripping, soft tissue tool treatments and others as deemed necessary.

Active Release Technique ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles from poor movement patterns or poor postural positioning at rest.. Used by professional athletes, at all IronMan competitions and by the general public, it is used for pain relief, improvement in body function/performance and reducing risk of injury/recovering from injury. Every ART session is a combination of examination and treatment. The texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves is evaluated. Abnormal tissues are then treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. Nick Rosencutter is certified to treat the full body with this method and is studying to treat lower extremity issues. Find out more at the ART website.
